Hostname and Sub Domains

A subdomain is a domain that is part of a larger domain.  An example, "exchange.active24.com" and "myaccount.active24.com" are subdomains of the "active24.com" domain, which in turn is a subdomain of the "com" or top-level domain (TLD).
