Changing of MX-records (pointing of e-mail).
What is it and why change?
You can choose to change the MX-records so that e-mail for your domain is with another server/supplier than Active24. By contacting the company you use for your e-mail server, you can get information about what should be set as the MX-record for your domain so that e-mail for the domain is sent to the right place.
The MX Priority is set up so that your e-mail suppliers have a priority listing of servers, so that one or more backup-servers can receive your e-mail against failure of the first server. The e-mail will firstly try and deliver to the server with the highest priority. If for one reason or another an email is prevented from being delivered, it will then be sent further to the next e-mail server on the priority list.
How do I change MX records?
You can change MX-records in the same way as described for changing A-Records and CNAME records.
How do I add MX records?
If you have backup servers for your e-mail you can set up a new MX-pointing if you go to the Record type and choose MX in the drop down box.
