Linux to Windows When upgrading your package from a Windows-based platform to a Linux-based platform, your website has to be transferred. It is important that you start by downloading your website locally on your PC or possibly an external unit. Thereafter your website has to be uploaded to your new account within the given timeframe to avoid possible downtime.
2. Enter your FTP username, password and hostname in the specified fields. Login details can be found in MyAccount under Web -> Get Started. 3. The content which you want to copy is mainly located in the “www” and “cgi-bin” folders, unless you have not stored data elsewhere. 4. Using the FTP client, open the folder on your local PC where you wish to store the copy of your website. Now start the download of your website content.
- The FTP client has to be set to “Active Mode” if the hostname is: ftp.newweb.active24.com
2. Type ftp://yourusername@yourdomainname.xx.pub.active24.com in the address bar. Login details are found in MyAccount under Web -> Get Started. 3. Enter your FTP password in the login box. 4. On your local PC, select the files and folders which you want to upload and drag-and-drop into the web browser to start the upload.
- The startpage of your website has to have one of the following filenames: - The startpage has to be located directly in the “root” folder. - As you have changed from a Linux to a Windows server, you no longer have PHP or CGI support on your account. |
